Math majors

I wanted to what i should major in. I already know that i will be majoring or minoring in computer science but i wanted more then just a degree in cs.

Applied math/ actuarial science/ actuarial finance
what is it used for?
how hard are the jobs to find/get?
is it hard to keep a high gpa in college?
how are the salaries?

i live in the new york area if that makes a difference.

what is the difference between actuarial science and actuarial finance?
are any of these majors better in addition to my major?

p.s i have a high interest in all of these fields.

If you want more information about actuarial careers and how to prepare, see http://www.beanactuary.com .

Where colleges offer specific actuarial majors, they are more for convenience in listing the needed and desired course work; preparing for actuarial careers can be done with many majors, though electives need to be chosen carefully.
