Is it possible to major in math and then pursue a masters degree in something that isn't math? If so what is the range of subjects that would be open? Would engineering be? Or is applied math about as far in that direction as one could go?

this should be in the graduate school forum, sorry about that.

It's not uncommon to major in math and then pursue a graduate degree in economics.

You can go to grad school in other subjects, depending on your undergraduate preparation. If you plan to go to grad school in engineering, consider taking a few courses in physics and chemistry (and possibly computer science) in addition to your math major.

From what I've researched, it's tough to go from a non-engineering bachelors to an engineering masters. You'd have to do a math major and a LOT of physics.
