"Math or Science" Teacher Rec

Obviously.

But does Computer Science fall under the science category? I have to double check, as on other sources (e.g. my transcript) it is listed as something else (It's cryptic).

Also, is it safe to assume that IB Theory of Knowledge is regarded as a humanities or social science course?

Yes.

That sounds reasonable to me.

Thanks for the quick response.

Generally when selective colleges refer to “science” they clarify that they mean a core lab science course (e.g. chemistry, biology, physics). Computer science is not that. Arguably it is more closely related to math – i.e. discrete math. But I wouldn’t push that analogy. In any case if you have a choice for the math/science recommendations I suggest that you pick a core math course teacher or a core lab science teacher.

Sorry but how about getting a rec letter from an AP physics teacher when the college asked for a rec letter from a math teacher?

AP physics has so much math that I thought it would be okay, but any opinion?
