I am a senior at one of the top 5 schools and am applying to the top 10 schools this year to pursue a PhD in math. I have a published original paper and am working on a second original paper which will be submitted for publication soon. I have completed a summer REU and was a TA and am expecting strong recommendations. My GPA is 3.85+ and GRE 95 percentile. Many of you have gone through the grad application process recently. Could you please share what worked for you and what did not? Why you got in to the top 10 (if you did) or why not?
