Hi, I was wondering if I would be allowed to test out of Calculus 2 without the BC credit. I plan on studying Calculus 2 over the summer. I'm pretty good at understanding math and hope there is an option besides self-studying for the BC exam. I have other classes to worry about, and the overall difficulity would be to much. Can anyone tell me of a way to test out of Calculus 2 without the BC credit?

Take Calculus 2 at a community college or some other university during the summer (make sure that the credit transfers though).

If you just signed up for Calc 3 and went on your way with it, they’re not going to make you take Calc 2 later most likely. What will happen is you will either have to take a more advanced math class to replace it, or you’ll just be excused from the requirement.

Interesting^, I wonder how that would turn out. I’ll email a counselor and find out if there are more options available. I thought they would check your previous courses before they enroll you into a more advanced course.

I just talked to a student last night and he suggested the same thing, take the basic requirement courses in community college in Summer.

The course guide indicates that MATH 215 only has an advisory rather than an enforced pre-requisite, so the registration system shouldn’t stop you from enrolling if you feel you can handle it. Your adviser might caution you against it, though.
