Hi, I will be starting at tamu this fall as a biomedical sciences major, but want to change into microbiology. I want to take math 151/152 sequence, so I can transfer to biomedical engineering later. I have credit for math 150 (IB credit), but I don't know if I am exempt from taking the MPE. The website says that credit for IB math HL exempts, but my credit is for IB math SL, but in my credits by exam in howdy it says I have credit for 150. I've sent an email to tamu about this but they never responded. Thanks

I would direct your email directly to someone in biomedical engineering and tell them of your plans. Also send a separate email to someing in biomedical science, asking if you’re exempt for their department.

In general, all incoming freshman engineering students must take the math placement. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.

Okey thank you. I could also take the MPE just in case right?

You need to take the MPE, no exceptions.
