I'm currently in the process of taking the mpt
The practice algebra to be more exact, I cannot pass it at all. I know a 35% is all I need yet ive taken it twice, 9% and. A 17% after some studying. I already know I'm not good at math so I don't realistically seeing me passing the algebra test if I even get to that point. I'm wondering, since my orientation is July 15, if I don't past the practice algebra by that time will that mean I still haven't completed it? Does passing at least the practice mean I won't be on hold for registering classes? I've heard that not passing means I just go to immediate algebra is that true? If I took intermidiate algebra this coming year would it be smart taking college algebra in the summer?

The test is ridiculous. I’m going to orientation this Monday, and I’ve yet to finish it. I’m going to ask to get into College Algebra, and if they don’t let me then I guess I’ll just have to finish it. I took it once and got a 30%. Two more questions and I would have passed. The worst part is that it is 53 questions, so it takes forever to do it once.

Anyways, I’ll try to remember to respond to this after and tell you what happened with me.

Well, I know this is kind of late, but here it goes. You basically have to take the test no matter what. My second time on the practice I managed to get a 50 some percent and I got a score of 260 on the actual test. Not great, but whatever. Something I found after a little bit of studying and taking my time was that the test really wasn’t as hard as I though it was. I was simply panicking. Between the practice exams I reviewed some of the material from my old College Algebra book.

Now the good news is that if you already took College Algebra through duel enrollment, you won’t have to retake it. You still have to take the test though.

My son took Calculus AB and Calculus BC and thought the test was ridiculous. Since he got a 4 and a 3 on the AP tests, he was told he does not have to take the test.

I was told that I didn’t have to take the test at orientation, but was later told to take it by the testing people.
