Has anyone been able to log in today? Did you receive the email mentioned on the orientation website?

Has anyone else been able to log in ? If so, did you use your new Maryland email user name and email password? Or did you receive an email that gave you different login information? I called the orientation office and was told they are aware of the problem but won't be able to fix it until the 11th.

Did anyone try to log in today? Success?

Mine didn't work. Apparently I'm not registered in their network.

I don't understand this math exam.... why would we have to take this if we have a 5 on the Calc BC test? They're not going to make me retake calc, are they?

doppler, you aren't going to have to retake calc if you get the transfer credits from the AP test. i don't know why they make everyone take the math placement test-- that's a good question. the highest you can "place" into is calc 1 anyway, so for people who have AP credits that go beyond that (like you), the math placement exam is really pointless.

oh well, treat it as some extra algebra/trig practice.

I just took it today.

Do students who have taken the online math placement exam prior to orientation still need to bring a graphing calculator to orientation? I'm confused about math.

If you take the math placement exam before orientation (which you should), you don't take it at orientation, so you don't need a calculator.

Anyone else who has already taken the exam receive an email yesterday urging you to take it?

Is the math placement exam timed?

Yes. Each section separately.

yes, I got the email even though I already took it.

Thanks, a778999!
