Math Placement Test (Transfer)

I'll be a sophomore this fall as a transfer and I know that there is this math placement test. I applied as an Undecided major and I am planning on declaring either Business or Economics. I have taken Pre-calc and Calculus from my previous college, so I'm wondering if I still need to take that test or not.

Any help would be appreciated!

Bump

Will you be taking a math course while enrolled at USC? If so then yes, you must take the math placement test.

If you have completed all math requirements for your degree and do not plan to take any math courses then no, you do not have to take the math placement test.

My son took the math and chem placement tests the other night. Each took less than 30 minutes.

@alamemom‌ @TRT‌ thanks for replying. I don’t know if I’ll be taking a math course next semester. but I have taken precalc and calc before. Since I’m undecided, I’m just not sure what to do.

Take the placement exam if there is any chance that at any time while you are at USC you will enroll in a Math course. This isn’t something to stress about - it is a quick, online assessment. Just do it.

@alamemom‌ Okay thanks for everything! I’m going to take it today
