if we get a 5 in ap calc, do we still need to take the mathematics placement test?

no you don’t

What are the methods of exemption from taking the math placement test?

5 on ab and 4 or 5 on bc i believe

I guess I’m not exempt. I’m sort of confused on this math diagnostics exam. What does it determine? What’s on the exam itself? If I’m a chemistry major hoping to change to chemistry/materials science, what math class do I have to take? The only calculus class I took was in junior year, elementary calculus.

For life science, 3 series or 30 series. For engineering, 30 series.

The placement test just makes sure you are ready to take these. If you don’t pass the placement test, you take remedial math. I mean, precalculus.

So that means physical sciences such as chemistry should also take 30 series math. What can I do to prepare myself to pass the mathematics exam?

We take these at orientation correct?

If we are exempt from our english placement exam, do we have to do anything besides report our AP scores?

does anybody know a place we can check for sure?

they’ll tell you at orientation… if they tell you you need to take it then just take the test… it is very easy…
