Math Placement test

Hey guys I'm so excited because I got into washu!!! It is one of my top choices!!

I have a question regarding the calculus at washu. It says all students must take the placement exam unless they received a 5 on the AP Calc test. But it is for AP calc AB or BC? Also, the AP calc BC test gives an AB sub score. If you receive a 5 on the AB portion of the BC exam, and a 3 on the BC portion can you still place out?

Thanks in advance!

So, a 5 on the AB exam will get you into the Calc. 2 class. A 5 on the BC exam will get you into the Calc 3 class. You can also use the AB subscore of 5 to get into Calc 2. But if you get a 5 on the AB exam but not the BC exam, you can always test into Calc 3. BTW, I’m also very excited, Washu is my top choice. If all things go well, I hope to see you in the Fall!

Thank you! I hope to see you too!
