Is it bad if you place into math 150 I know I'll be a semester behind but I think It'll be better personally to start there...

You’re fine.

My D is taking it for the first time right now. LOL - she’s talking out loud.

OK, so how do you know where you place? D took the placement exam, and it didn’t give her a score or tell her where she placed.

Weird, shoulda got her score immediately after she was done. If she goes to Howdy, My Records, and “View Test Scores” under “Grades and Transcripts”, she should see it there too.

Oh, ok, thanks!

Jes132, you know you can take it again in 30 days, right? You can take it 3 times.

Izelkay, hmmmm…nope. She doesn’t have those options under Records.

It’s okay though. She knows how many she missed. She’s going to study and take it again in a month. Close, but no cigar.

Her computer rebooted itself with 7 minutes left in the test! :-/

Ohh ok. Best of luck.

D said many of her friends took 150 even if they passed the test. Especially engineering students its a fairly difficult class

151 wasn’t difficult at all, so I’d imagine 150 would be a breeze. 152 is a different story altogether, though. If they took Calculus in high school (and passed the AP test), there’s really no reason why they shouldn’t start with 151.

D is in AP calculus AB now and doing fine. I think 150 would be mostly review. She plans on studying the material for BC over the summer a little on her own, just to make 151 easier…but those are just “plans” and “thoughts”. We’ll see how she does on the placement exam next month.

May have told you this already, but here’re the past exams for Math 151 if she’s interested in what her tests are going to be like:

Here’s Math 150 if she does end up going down that route:

Izelkay, I had seen you post that before, bit had forgotten. Thanks for the reminder! I am positive that will be helpful to her.
