I am aware that UMD has a placement test for math courses. However, if you have AP credit for Calculus, are you still subjected to the placement test?

If you are a first-time freshman, you are required to take the math placement test online before you attend Orientation--otherwise you will not be allowed to register for your classes. However, if you know that you will be receiving credit, you can literally just input random stuff because AP credit will override your math placement score.

while you can input random answers into the math exam if you have AP credit, you shouldn't do that until you know your actual score.

i thought about doing it, but I'm glad I didn't. turns out I got a 3 on the exam. i ended up in calc 1, but had i inputted random things, i would have been royally screwed. honestly, if you have or know someone who has a ti89 the calculator can do the entire test for you.
