I know it matters from school to school, but I'm aiming to transfer into the economics major at Northeastern. Once I'm done at community college, the farthest I'll have gone math-wise is fundamental statistics. I didn't pass the algebra placement test at my school a while back, and I held off on math courses, this was before I wanted to major in economics. This semester I'm completing a basic algebra course (which is ridiculously easy and I probably should have used my high school record to get into a higher course) and in the fall I have stats. The point of this thread is- will my admission chances into the major and thus Northeastern be lessened because of my relative math inexperience? The major requires calculus, and there's a pre-requisite class for that as well. I'll be finishing my associates in the fall so there's no time to get too advanced into the math classes. Any idea?
