Math Question Compilation for June 2008 SAT

and 3x=2y,yep.

Same as MrPrez.
I think it was none because 1^2 would be 1 so I is out too. III is not true if you count the points on the line.

works* (10char)

I think the parabola bounded region question, II and III were true.

It asked for points in the "interior" if I recall, not points on the line.

Also, the balloon question answer was 5 combos. Pretty sure about that too.

And 5/44 on the fraction one.

Wait I put 20 for the polygon problem

10 sides
one is less than 1 m

I initially put 11 but 10/11 is an irrational number?!

for the fraction question was there a 5/45 or a 5/44 because i forgot which one i put i hope i put 5/44
II was y>x^2, and that's true for all the points in the shaded part
Nuh uh. I confused x and y, but the point (2,4) or (16,4) was in it (it was the upper right point.) Either way, 4 is not bigger than 2^2, and certainly not bigger than 16^2.

Agreed.

Also I think the polygon answer was 11. If every side was 1m, the perimeter could be 10m. But every side has to be less than 1m so the least it could be is 11. Unless I missed something.

im pretty sure balloon was 4
1 g 3r 3b 3y
2g 2r 3b 3y
2g 3r 2b 3y
2g 3r 3b 2y

damn i put 5/45. stupid mistake. sucks how thats like 20pts off

(16,4) was not in it.....

It pretty much just comes down to whether or not you counted points on the line, because those were the ones that made it true or false. I only counted points in the interior but IDK

(2,4) was not in the shaded area, and (16, 4) was not in the domain, either

for the balloon one, i thought we said it's 4

highhopes the balloon problem was 4 combos 100%.
3 3 3 1
2 3 3 2
3 2 3 2
3 3 2 2

the photograph (12in by 16in) was easy because i knew that a computer resolution of 1600 by 1200 is 4 times as much area as 800 by 600.

the parabola. there was a shaded region bound by y=4 and y=x^2
the question asked which statements is true about points in the shaded body, so not on the line, but inside the shaded area.

I xy > 1 (i think this is what it was)
II x^2 > y
III abs(x) < 2

I is wrong; a point such as (0.5, 0.26) would be in the shaded region and less than 1.

II is correct, the shaded area is above the line y = x^2, it makes sense that any point about the parabola would be greater than the parabola's y value.

III is also correct, the domain of x values within the shaded area is (-2, 2) so x values within the shaded area is <2.

What was the answer to the one that had
0 > x > 2 > y
?
I found this one really hard.

is 2.67 an acceptable answer for a gird in if the answer is 2.6666.....

but for III it is only < not <=

i thought it sed xy >0

@tommy91

yes.....i grided it then looked back to the instructions for grid ins. I put 2.67

is 2.67 an acceptable answer for a gird in if the answer is 2.6666.....
^ I think the gridded answer should have been 8/3, right?
