This will be SO easy to anyone who knows how to do it.

what is the inverse of g(x)= 2 / (x+5)

This will be SO easy to anyone who knows how to do it.

what is the inverse of g(x)= 2 / (x+5)

x=2/y+5
xy+5x=2
2-5x=xy
y=(2-5x)/x?

wrong.

y= (2/x)-5

thats what i thought but there has to be some kind of fraction in the answer.. i got it wrong on the test

lol... its
y=(x+5)/2
inverse is just the reciprocal

ohh alright.. how did you do it? (band)

Wrong. Inverses of functions are different.

No need to distribute:

y = 2 / (x+5)
x = 2 / (y+5)
x(y+5) = 2
y+5 = 2/x
y = (2/x)-5

thanks (10chars)

Beefs' answer isn't wrong, y=(2-5x)/x equals y = (2/x)-5
