Math question june 2011 sat int.

Anyone remember the exact question for the one with the f(x) and g(x)? It said that g(x) = f(x+1) + f(x-1) and asked to find g(certain value it gave)... what was the equation for f(x)...anyone remember?

I solved this by moving f(x) to the left one unit then to the right one unit which resulted in g(x) being the same graph as f(x). After I have read some posts though, I am really uncertain about this method...I am thinnking that I should have added the two different values of f(x+1) and f(x-1) separately then added them together.....did anyone try both methods? if so, did you get the same answer??

PLEASE ANSWER IF YOU TOOK THIS TEST AND KNOW THE ANSWER>>>>PLEAAAAAAAAAAASE

I’m pretty sure I told you this before… or at least posted it somewhere before.
I did the second method you wrote - adding them separately. The answers are different.
The consolidated list from last year said that the answer was 6 - this was consistent with the method I used.
If you shifted the graph left then right, you would have gotten 3.
