Math question

This one gave me a tough time. Is there a way to approach it without using guess and check?

Well, guess and check shouldn’t take too long. It’s basically asking which of the five numbers can be plugged into the hundredths digit and create a decimal that can be expressed as #/##. Your 5 decimals would be:

.32
.33
.37
.38
.39

Take your calculator and just put in .32>Frac and put in each number until you get a fraction with a one-digit number over a two-digit number. Or, figure out what each decimal would be in fraction form and reduce (though I’d prefer to use my calculator).

Screw the instruction for P and t for now. Think like this for all the answer problems:
32/100
33/100
37/100
38/100
39/100
Now, take those values and simplify until you match the P and t values:
32/100-> 16/50 -> 8/25 -> fits P is one digit and t is two digits for P/t
33/100-> obviously wrong
37/100-> obviously wrong
38/100-> 19/50 -> does not fit P is one digit
39/100-> obviously wrong
The answer is 2 or A

Thanks for the help. Both of those strategies are great :)
