MATH Question

One side of a triangle has length 6 and a second side has length 7. Which of the following could be the area of this triangle?
1) 13
2) 21
3) 24

Answer 1 and 2

Probably the best way to approach this problem is to ask yourself what is the largest area possible given a triangle with sides of 6 and 7. That occurs when the two sides are at 90 degrees. The area of this right triangle would be 21 = 1/2 x 6 x 7. So the area could be smaller but couldn’t be larger.
