Math question

CB Bluebook, #17 page 586.

Can anyone explain the answer please?

I can try…

Basically it just follows the rules of any graph. So, just ignore the shape.

Rules: (using parent curve of y=f(x))

y=f(x)+c, the graph moves vertically "c" units.

y=f(x+c), the graph moves horizontally "-c" units.

y=-f(x), graph reflects (flips) over the x-axis

y=f(-x), graph reflects over y-axis

So, in the problem because the "2" is inside the parentheses, the graph has to move -2 spaces over. I hope that helps!
