Math Question

If the volume of a cube is 8, what is the shortest distance from the center of the cube to the base of the cube? How is the answer 1?

Thanks, this problem is killing me, I thought the answer should be 1

if volume is 8, each side has length 2. therefore the distance from the center of the cube to any face is half the distance from face to face (on a straight line). half of 2 is 1. u know each side is 2 because it tells u it’s a cube. does that help?

I’m not entirely sure how you’re actually supposed to do this problem but if i were to do it I would do this

volume of a rectangular prism= lwh (common knowledge) on a cube length width and height are the same so for the volume to be 8 take the third root of 8 to find out l,w,and h

by doing that you know the l,w, and h are 2 to the center would be half this length or 1

Thanks guys I get it now.
