Math Requirement for Transferring to UCs

I am a philosophy major applying as a TAG student to UCSD next fall, however I have only taken basic algebra. Although I am a TAG student would this still negatively affect my admission? I know that it must be a UC transferable course and the lowest math course offered at UCSD is precalculus. Additionally I have taken all the required lower division philosophy courses for my major (Phil 1, 10, 12, etc.) and I know that math is not required for my major at all. PLEASE HELP!

If you havent fulfilled your math requirement, then you dont qualify for tag and you will definitely get rejected

You need to complete a college level math course by the end of spring 2013 if you want to attend UCSD fall 2013. Statistics is probably the easiest UC transferable math course.

Pre-algebra? Yeah, you’re definitely going to need another year to get the transferable math done. They will definitely reject you. Apply next year when you have the transferable math completed.

After pre-algebra, you’re going to have to take Elementary Algebra and Int Algebra before you even get to the transferable math. If you take Elementary math this upcoming Spring, you’ll be done with math Spring 2014.

The UC-transferrable math requirement is a math class that has Algebra as a pre-requisite to taking the course. So typically the courses that require Algebra as a pre-requisite are Pre-Calc, Finite, or Stats. If you can take any 1 of those classes by Spring 2013 for a Fall 2013 start at UCSD, then you meet the TAG req for math. If not, then you will be rejected on the basis that you do not meet the requirements to apply through TAG.
