Math requirements for English major?

My junior daughter is interested in Holy Cross as an English major. She struggles with math/science and I'm wondering how difficult the math requirment is.

One more question. She will not be taking Calc. in HS. Will this kill her chances?

This is the requirements on their academic page:
Common Requirements
Common requirements include one course each in Arts, Literature, Studies in Religion, Philosophical Studies, Historical Studies, and Cross-Cultural Studies; and two courses each in Language Studies, Social Science, and Natural and Mathematical Sciences. No more than two courses from a single academic department may be counted toward fulfillment of the common requirements, except that students may take a third common requirement course in the same department where the Language Studies requirement is fulfilled.

My daughter did take calc (and hated it) but know students that didn’t in highschool at HC. She said you should have least taken stats or something like that though.

Thanks for the reply. I also saw the description from the academic page but I was hoping to see what specific math classes were required. There’s math, and then there’s math, if you know what I mean :)

My daughters choices for math in her senior year are pre-calc or AP stats. I don’t think there’s any way she’s taking AP stats. I think there’s another class but I forget what it’s called.

Here’s a better link, the first one sounds like it might fit your daughter:
[Course Offerings](http://academics.holycross.edu/mathcs/courses)
They also have differenct calc classes, for bio, for social science majors, etc.

tellch00 I was accepted into Holy Cross ED and as a senior I did not take a math course. I have four math credit because I doubled up junior year with AP Stat and pre-calc. I decided not to take calc this year because I’m not going into a math major. Since I was accepted not taking calc (or not taking a math at all senior year) didn’t stop me from getting in.
