Math SAT I

I have always considered one of my strengths to be math. I do fairly well in honors level math courses. (Currently in H Pre - Calc as a Junior) I just got a 620 on my math PSAT, after getting three 720 - 760 practice PSATs. I believe I just panick on the real thing.

Anyway, I honestly feel like there is no reason why I shouldn't get an 800. I feel like I have the ability and knowledge to do it.

I have only been getting hard level math questions wrong.

I have taken all the Gruber math knowledge tests and scored almost perfectly on most of them, yet I still have random difficulties with some of the hard level questions.

Basically, I am looking for a good resource for simply hard level math questions. Anything anyone can recommend?

Any tips or strategies for my situation?

Thanks a lot

If you feel like your strength is math, then it’s important to analyze why you get some “hard” problems wrong. When you miss problems, recreate (don’t copy your original!) a solution that you think makes sense. If you arrive at your answer again, see what the book’s solutions have to say or post the problem up here. Perhaps some silly mistakes are evident, or you may be confused by the problem’s wording. Whatever it is, your approach ought to be focused on eliminating those issues through consistent practice.
Is there an example math problem that you have missed recently?
