Math SAT Subject test?!!?

I took my first practice SAT math subject test with no preparation whatsoever.
I got a 660.... I understand that this sucks....
If I study or join a test prep program, is it possible to bring this up to a 760?
(please be honest)

buuuumpp…

bump bump bumpppppp

I or II?

If you took calc class, may or June might be a good time to take the test for II. Otherwise, wait until you take the class.

Math2 requires only up to pre-calc.

I took Math 2. I am currently in pre-calc.

660 isn’t horrible…but you could have done a lot better.

Out of curiosity, why did you take the test without prepping for it?

I took a practice test, not an actual test. I just wanted to see how I would do without any prep. Is it possible for me to move my score up?

I think practice tests are the best way to prepare for the Math 2, because you should know most of the material anyway. Practice tests will help you become more familiar with the timing and will point out any areas you need to study more. Try to take around 5-10 practice tests before the actual SAT. That’s all I did to prepare.

Also, keep in mind that many practice tests are much harder than the actual SAT (especially Barrons I think).

I know that you aren’t necessarily looking for an 800, but 15 Realistic Tests for the SAT Math Level II by Rusen Meylani was very helpful for me. The book is definitely overkill (the tests are definitely a lot more difficult) but cover the same concepts covered in the actual exam and make the actual exam a breeze. I took either 8 or 9 of the tests in the two weeks leading up to the test and got an 800 on the exam. I’ve heard the Barron’s is also a good study guide for exam.

The Barron book is excellent! Even if you struggle through the questions, the exam will not be as difficult.

Take a lot more practice tests and you should be able to raise your score in no time.

Just keep practicing. My daughter went from 8 wrong to 2 wrong after 3 or 4 practice tests. She is also in pre-calc right now.

Like everyone else said, keep practicing. Additionally, keeping up with school math will help a lot on the subject test.
