Math SATs Question

Say you wanted to major in economics; what would be an acceptable SAT I and SAT II score in math for top colleges?

Top as in IV? Depends. If its say MIT or those very math oriented/science oriented schools then shoot for a high 770 +. If its in general for IV's I would say about 740+. If its just a top university but not iv (say hopkins) aim for a 700. Generally if you are not applying TO ivs but to a top college get at least or around 700 +.

I meant top schools like the ivy league.

740-800 is the highest bracket for SAT I scores.

You mean getting a 740 is considered equivalent to an 800?

And thus a 2220 is equivalent to a 2400?

I'm going to quote a Dartmouth rep:

"If we wanted a campus where everyone had a perfect score, we could have one. But many other things need to be taken into consideration."

As long as you have 700+ on each section I would say, you're scores are definitely fine for Ivy League and are not a reason they would not accept you. Probably aim for a 2200 or up and I would say you are fine.

Do those IVs take into consideration writing too much? Because I probably can score my highest there!

It definitely won't hurt you.
