math& science for a non-math non-science person

i'm currently in alg 2 as a junior
i hate math and i do not plan to use it in college (international relations & russian)
should i take ap stat or pre-calc next yr
i called uva admissions and they said in their eyes these "classes are equally rigorous"
i cannot take pre-calc and ap stat. i have a full schedule (see below)

i have also not yet taken physics, ap or regular. is this class necessary? i'm not a math or science person and i know what i want my major to be, but at the same time i do not want to be discounted at top universities for not having 2 biggies: calc and physics.
i have expanded outside of my school's curriculum by taking 2 online AP social studies courses to demonstrate my interest in international relations..

ap chem (2 pds)
ap spanish
ap gov
ap human geography
ap lit
(ap stat or pre-calc)
dual personal finance *grad requirement

what should i do?

I would say again… look at major requirements.

Especially at UVA.

But I doubt you’ll need to take much math.

I’m just gonna say this…

No specific major that says international relations on UVa site.
and Russian is Slavic Language and Literature.

Statistics is a more common and everyday math that even non math and science majors need more than pre calc

i was just generalizing MIT, because i am not only applying to UVa

CPUscientist3000 thanks for your input and i agree

Well… I always start off from the school I would want to go to most.

Then other things tend to be similar.

It doesn’t look like much math is needed for either.

If anything… a more econ principles would go along…

I would say AP Stats is more useful as well.

I wouldn’t say AP Physics is necessary at all if you’re not going to be majoring in science. And, I agree with everyone else, AP Stat seems the better route.

still check the requirements for all of your prospective schools, it could be different.
