Math/Science Recommendation

So, I've never had particularly close relationships with any math/science teachers being a lot more humanities oriented and struggling with chemistry, calculus, etc. If i did get a recommendation from any of the math/science teachers that i know they wouldn't be bad per se, but they'd be more likely to highlight any faults/lack of enthusiasm and be pretty plain vanilla at best. In contrast almost all of my humanities teachers know me very well/speak highly of me. So, question one, could i stretch it and get my economics (or even psychology) teacher to write the math/science rec? Or is that strictly social studies?

I never misbehaved or anything in non-humanities classes i just regret now that i never made an effort to connect with the teachers even though i've almost always disliked not only their subjects, but also them (my precal teacher made me cry for crissake). So it's not that they'd be horrid its just none of them know me well at all due to my 'get in and get out with the least damage' approach.

Chicago is going to be a big reach and overall uphill struggle so i wonder that if i get a less than enthusiastic rec its going to harm what small chance i have. If that happens i question whether or not i should even bother applying anymore. Thank you for reading all of this and for any possible answers. :)

My recommendation is that you should get another rec to outdo your mediocre math/science one. It worked for me.

Your math/science rec must come from a math or hard science teacher. Economics and psychology do not count. Sorry. I know.

If you have two stellar humanities recs to overshadow your math/science one, that’s the best you can do.

Alright, I suppose i’ll have to do that  Thank you for the great advice!
