math/science teacher rec question...

one of the things that made me a little nervous on the UCHicago application was the math/science teacher recommendation. not because I'm not good in those subjects or anything, but because i am not really sure if i could get a good personal recommendation from any of my math/science teachers from the past couple of years.
-i don't really know my science teacher this year that well yet, and my science teacher last year was fired at semester (long story), and we had a new teacher for the next semester. (who was way better, but still it was only a semester)
-i've had the same math teacher for the past couple of years, but the way that she runs her class isn't exactly conducive to "getting to know" her students, it's more of a lecture style, we take notes she talks class. when i asked her about possibly writing me a recommendation, she said that she tends to write a more "general" letter to the colleges.

BUT, i am going to have really good personal recs from both my english teacher and my history teacher (i think :-) and both of them know me really well.

is the general letter going to be ok for UCHICAGO if I have 2 other really personal recs? should i be concerned about the math/science thing? does anyone else have the same problem?

i am a little nervous here.

Maybe I'm confused but isn't is supposed to be ONE letter of rec from either a english OR a Social Studies teacher and ONE letter from either a Science or Math teacher. In total it is two letters of rec (not counting counselor).

yeah it is, but i was going to send in the supplemental rec form because for the other schools that im applying to, i am using my english and history teacher recs as the main recs

There's nothing that says it has to be a currently employed teacher. If you had a good repoir with the science teacher who was fired, get them to write you a letter of recommendation.
