I want to transfer to the ivies for computer science (MIT, Carnegie Melon, Stanford, etc). My main problem is that I did very poorly in high school (GPA:3.0, ACT:23, EC: poor). I have realized my fatal mistake and now have the work ethic and determination to fix it. I am studying to take the SAT to plug that hole but it seems like my HS ship has sunk. How can I maximize my opportunities in college? I will be attending a community college in Washington with few options worthy of the schools I want to go to. I naturally will be taken the hardest classes and getting a 4.0 but that won't be enough. What are good organizations, activities, opportunities, etc. I can join that will impress the admissions staff? Just to make myself clear, I am not only doing this to get into college but because I love it. I simply found my passion late and am paying for it now. Thank you for your help in giving me the slim slim slim chance to get into a good school.
