Math/science

How good is math and science at Barnard, like if you wanted to major in a science, is it better to go somewhere else?

Not necessarily. Depends on the science and your goals with it. From what I hear, Bio's great. Haven't heard a single complaint about lab opportunities or job or grad/med/vet school placement. Same thing for Physics. From experience, I know the BC/CU math department's awesome (there's just one department; I think it may be the same for physics, too). I don't know anything about chemistry. If you consider psychology a science (or the neuro aspects of it, at least), Barnard's pretty well renowned for it. Otherwise, the departments aren't as famous, but they're great for teaching and experience nonetheless.

I'm definately coming to Barnard this fall, but I was wondering what your perspective on Barnard's economic program is. I was planning on majoring in economics, because originally i wanted to do business (but i'm not 100 percent sure). If i graduate from Barnard will i be able to go into business related fields after i graduate? Would it have been better if i went to a school with a business program (too late for that though lol). Just wondering...
