What exact score would I get for a 52 raw score out of 54 in Math? The BB said a range of 720-800, but I don't know if it would be the average (760), or a different score. If anybody has gotten that raw score on the real SAT, what was the scaled score? Thanks

The average is usually pretty accurate. 52 for October was a 750.

I got somewhere between a 52 & 53 raw and it landed me an 800, so i wouldn't be too worried if I were you

Godot posted this long time ago.

For the CR sections, take the lower end of the range as the actual score. For the Math sections, the midpoint of the range is usually an accurate score. For the Writing sections, the ranges in the book vary too much from my curve to give a general rule. In general, the true score is probably lower than the midpoint of the range.

I hope this helps!

It's been a while since Godot has posted on CC. I wonder if he is still using that conversion.

I am also curious whether/how his scoring curve differs from mine.

I think that true scores for the CR and Math sections are about 10-20 points above the bottom score of the Blue Book scores, and true Writing score is in the middle of the range.

xittamarg, lotf629, and everybody else who tutors -would you care to share your opinion if it does not fall in a category of proprietary information?

i think CR is more like the middle range..
