Math section funky??

what were the +300 and +200 again?

The water depth wasn't bad.

each notch = 1 ft

the drop was 2 feet and it said it was 10%

so 2 / .1 = 20

the school thing i don't remember at all.

Sephiroth- in the compensation problem, each of the workers was given 20% or 25% of their individual total sales, plus an additional $200 or $300 flat.

Also, for the water depth problem, I hope you remembered that they asked for the depth at 4:00, at which point it was 18 feet?

The school thing showed a simple bar graph with the years along the bottom and bars for boys/girls. I remember that it was the year all the way on the right of the graph, which I think was 1994 (?). It was the one where the ratio was 2, I know that much.

I do believe the water depth one was 18. You could eliminate all the other answers because the question said it went down ten percent from one point to another, and none of the other choices were 90 percent of a whole number.

wait, so why is 2,000 wrong? what was the question asking for?

Rudy- the question was asking for the amount of compensation (aka total pay) during the week in which both the employees received equal amounts of sales commission. The sales commission, which is the first step in solving this problem, is $2000. Some people just stopped there and didn't realize that you had to use that amount and figure out the total amount of money each of the employee's made that week.

I think the answer was like 3000 or 5000....it was bigger than 2000.

the answer was 700

the amount of sales was like 2000 each
2000.2 = 400 + 300 starting = 700
2000.25 = 500 + 200 starting = 700

their sales is 2000...but how much they get paid is 700

i almost fell for that trap............NOT (if you have ever gone shopping and been hounded by employees trying to get comission)

Yeah..........NOW I remember.......I might have put 700, I know I didn't fall for the 2000 trap. Why is it they have to test your ability to see their stupid traps instead of your actual math ability?

I suddenly feel that my score is much lower than I previously thought.............

For the water depth question, the answer was 18, do any of you remember which letter it was? Was it D?, really hoping it was D cause I think i might have accidentally bubbled the answer for number 16 which was D into number 15. I originally omitted 15 so thats why i might have messed up. But if both answers are D then I have no problem.

Hmm. I don't think I'll ever get higher than 760 =(. I've gotten that score twice now.... which isn't bad but isn't representative of my math skill.

The depth one was either B or D, I'm leaning towards D at the moment in my memory, but I could be wrong.

here is the list of answers I got for any questions that people are debating (with my two mistakes corrected)

Grid-In:
12 (pizza)
2 (x/y or something like that)
123 ( could have been anything 120-125)
2035 (1990 $10 go to 100 thing)
5 (I can't remember at all but I remember putting 5 as an answer, don't know if this is the right spot for it)
89 (remainer 9 and remainder 8 question)
6.5 ( finding perimiter of shape with 9/4 as part of area)
5/9 (sets of numbers that are divisable by 5)
700 (compensation)
120 (contant of t)

Some of the other ones:
Water: 18
Polygon: 9 sides
Median is 6 thing: I, II, III
symbols: I II
the other thing with roman numerals: I (I think, someone check it, I know it was right when i did it)
Cube/Sphere: 8r^3
Hotel/Motel: Day 3

Thats all I remember at this time, feel free to add more or correct me if any seem wrong.

It was C i think.. 99 percent sure.. i hope..

I think it was B. I think C was 20 D was 22 and E was can't be determined.

does anybody remember which question had the answer "5"????

crap then i bubbled in C im posistive damnit :(
