So I've been seeing some SAT questions and I'm not really used to percentages but there was that question 33 1/3% less than 9 so what they did was multiplying 9 by 1/3 and then subtracting it from 9 so the answer was 6 . But I wanted to know why did they neglect the 33 and just used the 1/3 ??? Please help me..

They didn’t neglect anything. 33-1/3 % (or 33-1/3 out of 100) is the same as 1/3, just as 25% (or 25 out of 100) is the same as 1/4 and 37-1/2% (or 37-1/2 out of 100) is the same as 3/8. You REALLY need to review percentages before tackling the SAT!

Thank u very much @MommaJ for explaining and u mean 33 1/3% together right not each one separately because they put it together not like 33 Is the same as 1/3 it is 33 1/3%
