Math & Stat same semester?

Here's my situation.

I took AP Stat senior year as my math class. If I got a 3 on the exam, that feat would surpass the 1980 US Hockey team for greatest miracle ever, so I'm planning on taking stat again, since its a core req. However, it is not considered a math class, its considered "quantitative reasoning", meaning I have to take a math AND stat.

My question is, is it hard to do stat in the same semester as math since its possible that stuff could get mixed up? Or should I do stat first semester and use what I learned in HS, or should I do math first, so that I won't be 2 years from having done a real math course?

You can take both at the same time. Unless it’s a really BS math course or an upper level stat course I can’t see there being any mixup. See how difficult those courses are. If they aren’t too hard, take both. If both are considered really difficult, maybe you want to push off one for second semester.

What math class? I wouldn’t worry about getting things mixed up. As long as it isn’t going to make your semester really hard I’d take both.

my other math class will either be “Mathematical Modeling” (???), Precalc, or Calc.

Do you not need calc for your Stat class?

goes to bulletin

No prereqs are listed. It just says STAT 2000, Intro to Statistics.

You ought to be fine then.

kool, preciate it.

You’ll do fine. I’m taking 2 Math classes PLUS a stats class for my first semester…
