math subject test problem (precalc)..help!

Let f(x)=3 + x^2 + tan(πx/2), where -1<x<1

Find f^-1 (3)

That is a pi sign in the parentheses and the question asks for f-inverse of 3

f^-1 (3) = 0

How did you find the inverse of that equation, though? I don't understand how to do it with tan in the equation.

f(0) = 3.
Point (0,3) is on the graph of y=f(x).
It translates into point (3,0) on y=f^-1 (x), so
f^-1 (3) = 0
