<p>Anyone have tips for avoiding careless errors on the math section besides working slower and double checking?</p>
<p>well I just work through the test doing all the ones I don't need to think twice about first (I get the answer then double check right after for each problem). and for the ones I'm not 100% sure I mark up in my booklet and I go back to those problems afterwards. And after that I just "try" to check my work the 3rd time...but I usually can't because I wouldn't be able to focus.</p>

I tend to make mistakes by mis-reading questions towards the end. By saving the less complicated problems, I eliminate the chance of mis-reading because I already answered them o_o.</p>
<p>Btw, only do this if you can finish a math section in ~10-15 minutes.</p>
<p>If you're going to check your work (and you have the time for it) do so right after you finish the problem or else you may not be as likely to catch the mistake.</p>
<p>Also, check for the common simple errors like anything involving signs, exponents, factoring, etc.</p>
<p>Know what you tend to mess up on and watch for it.</p>
