Hey guys,
I wanted to ask something. I don't have a great SAT Math score (680) and I plan to major in engineering. The thing is that my school math record is pretty good - a 90%+ always; so I wanted to know if my school math performance would cover up by average SAT math perormance?

I'm a senior from India BTW.
Thanks. :)

Sorry for the few spelling errors - stupid mobiles! ;)

There are many, many successful engineers in the world who scored lower than 680! If you enjoy the subject, go for it. The fact that you have a 680 (which is a fine score) and A’s in school math suggests that you have sufficient mathematical aptitude for this field. Good Luck.

680 is pretty decent. I’m saying this because the raw score conversion for sat math level 1 isn’t very forgiving. I got 710, where out of around 50 questions I got 2 wrong and I left out 2. One more thing, the sat math is based on aptitude, and not on formulas like your school math. During your engineering course you will be performing math which is similar to the math that you’re doing at school right now.

Grade inflation. :P

It all depends as to where you want to apply, and if you feel like you can do better, try taking the SAT II for Math.

Guys, I’m talking about the SAT reasoning test Math. Thanks for all your inputs though! :)

Also herozero1234 - I took the SAT Math L2 at got a 740. Yeah… not pretty hot either. I didn’t study for it.

its actually very good…
