Hi,
I am a freshman in high school and I was wondering someone could please explain these courses to me. The standard for math at my high school is Geometry, Algebra II, Pre Cal, Cal. Where do the following fit in? Thank you!
(I am guessing algebra is just I & II?)
Algebra; trigonometry; plane, solid, and analytical geometry
Algebra is divided into 2 sequences, Alg 1 (usually an 8th grade class where I’m from) and alg 2, but you’ll use these in the later sequences too (pre calc and calc) bc they’re foundational. Trig is usually introduced in geometry honours and then elaborated upon in algebra 2 and/or pre-calc, and you’ll be using it in calc, too. Plane, solid, and analytical geometry are explored in depth in geometry, but you’ll see problems based off of basic concepts in geometry in later sequences, especially algebra 2.
