Math 115 or 116? I took AP Calculus AB in high school and got a 4 on the ap test but i got a B in the class. I hear that if i take 116, i get something like 8 credits or something ridiculous like that because of my ap score. Which class is harder and which looks better for the Bschool?

I wouldn't say 116 is harder than 115. It's a continuation of 115. People who took both often got the same grade in 116 as 115. I got a 5 on the AB and took 116, so I was in a similar situation as you. If anything, I would say 116 looks better for the b school since it's one level higher, but I can't say that's what got me in. The curve is good for that class (whatever you got on an exam +20 points and that's your grade pretty much). You can get a 70 on an exam for an A or A-.

I would say take 116. It's not a matter of what looks better, 115 or 116, it's a matter of HOW much better 116 looks. I'm quite surprised b-school doesn't require 116 since integral calculus is pretty important to many optimization problems and modelling. I think the only reason people say 116 is harder is because test scores are lower, but as redhare said, they compensate with a curve for your final grade.

On a similar note, I got placed into MATH 215 instead of MATH 285 because of scheduling conflicts. How do they match up? Would it be easy to move into MATH 286 after doing MATH 215?

I took 286 without really knowing multivariable calculus and did fine, so I'm sure coming from 215 you'll be fine.
