Would it be advisable to do math 16b following math 1a keeping in mind that i got a b- in math 1a? Or would i need to do 1b to finish the 1 series if i want to keep med school as an option?

you can take 16b to pad your gpa a little, but think about it, even if you can escape this one time, you still can’t escape the greater challenges o-chem and bio 1a will bring, all of which are harder than math 1a. so taking 16b is not going to solve all of your problems.

you can do it. but if u r going the med school route, they rather have you do 1a/1b series.
16 series is more for liberal arts majors

^^not true. the premed counselors have stated time and time again either series is acceptable. but the only condition is that i think they want you to take both courses from one series

Hmm, I hear that Math 1B isn’t as hard as Math 1A.

Also keep in mind that taking 16B after 1A will only get you two units of credit, not three. So if you want to increase your GPA, then getting an A in 16B will only raise it up by a little bit. But 16B is the safer route if you just want to finish the Math requirement.
