Math

According to <a href="http://www.collegeboard.com/prod_downloads/about/news_info/cbsenior/yr2003/pdf/table_12.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeboard.com/prod_downloads/about/news_info/cbsenior/yr2003/pdf/table_12.pdf</a>
800 on Math 2 is 90 percentile while even 770 on Math 1 is 99.
If hypothetically someone has 800 on Math 2, would an 800 on Math 1 strenghten their application or is it bec of the percentiles or is it presumed????

I don't think colleges look that much at the percentiles, but rather the scores. If you've already scored an 800 on Math IIC, that would demonstrate your knowledge of math up to precalculus. Why would anyone then take IC?

I don't think so. The reason for the difference in percentiles is that the people who take the Math 2 are all pretty skilled in math, and many of them expect to get 800. I'm not totally sure, but I think tat the people who take Math 1 usually take it because they need to take a certain number of SAT 2's, or because the college where they're applying requires that they take a math subject test. So the 800 on the Math 2 is probabley all that you'll need to show the colleges that you're good at math (try taking AP's if you want to show them you're great at math).

actually i think it is the fact that math 2 allowes for up to like 8 mistakes (i've heard) sometimes and still assigns an 800 while it's more like 2 on math 1.
