Mathematical Economics

<p>How hard is this major? How good do you have to be at math to be able to succeed in this major?</p>

<p>I can’t imagine being very successful in the field if you aren’t outstanding at math. Maybe not “A Beautiful Mind” outstanding, but you better be really good.</p>

<p>Presumably, it is intended to prepare students for PhD study in economics. Expect it to include relatively difficult proof-oriented math courses like real analysis, as well as other upper division math courses like proof-oriented linear algebra, and math-heavy statistics.</p>
