i know there are specific threads for UCLAri and Flopsy for specific majors and departments at LA, but who can tell me the reputation of the math department at LA (i applied for applied math major). thanks in advance for the response.

of course it's good. Danica McKellar went to UCLA for undergrad and got a math degree!

well yes it's good. but for example, berkeley is known for having an awesome math program; is it this way at LA?

oh come on we have terrence tao.

To some, math is the "easy way out". Especially if you decided to swtich majors.

Only 3 years are required to finish the major requirements. So if you decided to switch majors after a year, you'd still be able to graduate in 4 years.

I don't know about any of the reputable professors besides Tao.

how about professor osher?

he may not be as popular as professor tao, but i heard that he is well-known in the applied math field

We have Prof. Biskup -- be warned.

lol, i've actually read a thread here about his grading bs

well...

HIS GRADING IS ********!!!
