Would this be a better major to consider than economics if you are denied at Ross? For Wall Street purposes?
There was a point where this program was ranked either 10th or in the top 10. Not sure where it is currently…I’ve read mixed reviews. My take is that a strong GPA at any division of Michigan will earn a degree of respect, the question is is there an interviewing pipeline that you can hook into? You might consider determining before matriculation whether or not you’ll be able to get attention within or alongside of the Ross pipeline. Go to UM and get superior grades and you will do well.
thank you. you are right. i just wonder if that information is released? i have a friend at BC and it seems that the Economics majors in Arts & Sciences interview alongside the Business School students. Do you feel that this is usually the case? I imagine many in the business schools of top colleges would argue that an Economics major in arts & sciences is less demanding. if that pipeline is open to all, then maybe the business school is a nice bonus but not completely necessary.
I know from talking with Prof. Debakker, that the Math majors (even those in Math of Finance and Risk) do not interview along with the Ross students (Ross keeps it tight to their students), but the Math department and related clubs, do an extraordinary job lining up fantastic employers to interview their students for internships and full time opportunities.
