Okay, obviously the title tells you I've a bit of trouble with math. The thing is, I'm no good at it! In my PSAT, I got a 58. That was in October. Now I've been preparing for SAT for about 2-3 months, and my scores are still pretty much the same (550, give or take)! My SAT is on the 22nd, and I'm really disheartened by my progress in Math. It's the thing that brings my score down to 1900's!

Initially, I'd attempt almost every sum, which was no good because for each correct answer, I'd have one or two wrong ones. With the minus 0.25 marking, you can imagine how that was. Now I do only the sums I think I know for sure, and then try the others. I usually leave the really intimidating ones.. I know I can't pull a 700 in Math at this rate, but I really, really need about 100 points more in my score! Any suggestions/advice/strategies/words-of-consolation ( :D ) would be welcome! Thank you

I assume that with a 550, chances are likely that you are going to miss most of the “hard” questions. Fortunately for you, those “hard” questions only consume perhaps 8 questions on the entire math section. What you can certainly do is get all of the easy and medium questions right, and with a little luck, even get a couple of the hard ones. Try the plug in method. It works on SO MANY questions it’s not even funny. If you want more advice and tips, look at Silverturtle’s pinned SAT help on this board.
