maths 1c and 2c

folks,
I'm taking both the maths this saturday... any advices before the test will be appreciated :)

bump it up

i dont get it
why take both?
just take 2c

well,
i'll look at the percentiles and i'll submit that with the higher % :))

I don't believe you can choose. Both scores will be "submited"

yeah you cant choose anymore
thats oldschool

anyway:

any advises ?

go for both if you are good at math. otherwise just take IC and make sure you are careful. the BEST review is sparknotes IC. go through their online book and 3 free practice tests (through different email accounts) and u are set for 750 +. They are exceptionally accurate.

I've heard people recommending 2c instead of 1c because the more generous curve. Its easier to score a 760 on 2c than 1c. 1 Wrong on 1c already drops you down 20 points, and then everyone wrong after that is another 10 down. I'm still debating whether to take both as well or just 2c. I took the 1c last yr unprepared and bombed it because I knew nothing about it. Should I retake it to fix my score or just the 2c and score higher?

^yes, the curve is better, but the numbers on the subject tests don't really matter. it's the percentile that matters. i made a 770 and was only in the 79th percentile. my friend who made an 800 was in the 88th percentile. i made a 740 on math ic and was in the 95th percentile.

so which 1 should I take? both or what?

no, the numbers matter
a 760 on IIC is still better than a 760 on IC

i'm using barron's which is EXTREMELY hard.is it worth it ?

^ not really. well yes. i mean i got an 800 on the barron diagnostic test so i knew i was gonna get 800 on the real thing but if u learning then i suggest u use something else.

both the numbers and percentile matter.
for IIC, there's no harm in getting a high number, say 770 but have a low percentile- 79th. colleges know that a lot of test-takers score high for Math IIC, simply because of the types of kids who take it-- they are confident about their abilities and gifted in math.

hmm ****..took a diagnostic and scored a 630 :(. It was hard! And it wasn't even barron's it was the PR book. I guess I didn't really understand the material I learned :(. Going to have to reread the chapters.
