Maths Functions Problem

  1. There is a question where the graph represented is y=ax(sqaure)+2 And the question asked is what would happen to the graph when y=a/3x(sqaure)+2 And no points have been given
  2. When y=f(x) then what happens to the graph when y=2f(x)

I am really have trouble with the function questions relating to graphs
So can someone help me out here?

Use ^2 for “squared.”

Assuming you mean y = (a/3)x^2 + 2, the graph will look similar to that of y = ax^2 + 2 but it should be “stretched” horizontally by a factor of 3.

  1. You are multiplying all outputs of f by 2. What do you think should happen here? (this shouldn't be a trick question)

Ah damn . Thanks @MITer94
Would you know some source or something i could refer to to get my concepts regarding these types of functions and graphs cleared?
