Mathy Question

Middlebury is one of my choices for college. Right now, its early, as I'm a high school sophomore, but its on my radar screen. I want to major in something like Anthropology, International Relations, and at least learn Arabic. So Middlebury sounds like a good place.

I'm a strong applicant. Plenty of APs (two this year, biology and world history and a five on my first test, AP Human), with decent grades (mostly A's) except in Math, where so fair I have two B's in Advanced Geometry, and a C in first semester Advanced Algebra II. Do I still have a shot, seeing that math would have nothing to do with my major, at Middlebury?

I think you do have a shot considering you have already started taking a challenging course load....but if I were you I'd try and focus on bringing the math grades up because these will cause your gpa to drop and make you less competative for middlebury.....but I'm sure you'll still have a good chance of getting in and you have plenty of time to create some competative stats!!....

I would try to bring your math grades up if you can; nothing is more impressive to the admissions people than grade improvement. You might want to try an SAT II in math just to see how you do, but if you're strong in everything else and present yourself well, you definitely have a shot--the admissions committee aren't looking for perfect people, they know everybody's human.
