Is MATLAB really useful for Electrical/Computer Engineers? How about robotics?

I ask because I have the choice between taking a class taught by a really cool teacher or taking a 5 week self paced course to satisfy a requirement.

You should go with what interests you, but Matlab IS very useful for most engineers – crucial, even, for some.

I will be getting the fundamentals of MATLAB in both options, but the traditional course just delves a little deeper into the robotics applications.

Robots and matlab… sounds like fun. I don’t understand what you’re conflicted about. I’d sign up right away.

Oh, I suppose…

It’s just that it would mean taking 22 credits, along with my extracurricular activities. But I should be expecting that as an engineer.

22 credits = death.
